Achievability Bounds for T-Fold Irregular Repetition Slotted ALOHA Scheme in the Gaussian Multiple Access Channel

چکیده
We address the problem of massive random access for an uncoordinated Gaussian multiple access channel (MAC). The performance of T-fold irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA) scheme for this channel is investigated. The main difference of this scheme in comparison to IRSA is as follows: any collisions of order up to T can be resolved with some probability of error introduced by Gaussian noise. First, we generalize the density evolution method for T -fold IRSA and noisy channel and find optimal degree distributions for different values of T . Then we perform analysis and find minimal Eb/N0 for a fixed length, rate and packet loss probability. The scheme is shown to work closer to finite length random coding bound proposed by Y. Polyanskiy, than existing solutions.

Rate Selection and Power Adaptation using Maximal Ratio Combining for the Random Access Gaussian Channel
With the emergence of machine-driven communication, there is a renewed interest in the design of random multiple access schemes for networks with large number of active devices. Many of the recently proposed access paradigms are enhancements to slotted ALOHA. One of the popular schemes, irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA), is based on an analogy between multiple access with successive int...
متن کاملFinite Length Performance of Random Slotted ALOHA Strategies
Multiple connected devices sharing common wireless resources might create interference if they access the channel simultaneously. Medium access control (MAC) protocols generally regulate the access of the devices to the shared channel to limit signal interference. In particular, irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA) techniques can achieve high-throughput performance when interference cancel...
متن کاملFinite Length Analysis of Irregular Repetition Slotted ALOHA in the Waterfall Region
A finite length analysis is introduced for irregular repetition slotted ALOHA (IRSA) that enables to accurately estimate its performance in the moderate-to-high packet loss probability regime, i.e., in the so-called waterfall region. The analysis is tailored to the collision channel model, which enables mapping the description of the successive interference cancellation process onto the iterati...
متن کاملBounds for Multiple-Access Relay Channels with Feedback via Two-way Relay Channel
In this study, we introduce a new two-way relay channel and obtain an inner bound and an outer bound for the discrete and memoryless multiple access relay channels with receiver-source feedback via two-way relay channel in which end nodes exchange signals by a relay node. And we extend these results to the Gaussian case. By numerical computing, we show that our inner bound is the same with o...
متن کاملA slotted ALOHA-based cognitive radio network under capture effect in Rayleigh fading channels
In this paper, a slotted ALOHA-based cognitive radio (CR) network is proposed and the throughput performance of the proposed CR network model under Rayleigh fading channels is examined. Our CR network contains two special groups of users, primary users (PUs) and CR users (CRUs), and they are considered to be sharing a timeslotted-based common communication channel. While PUs can access the chan...
